Explore High-Pressure Excursion (HPE) - a sporadic, unpredictable event involving increased transmembrane pressure in oxygenators that can potentially lead to periods of inadequate perfusion and morbidity for the patient.

Steven Dove

Steven Dove, MA, PA, CCP Emeritus, is a Principal Clinical Specialist for perfusion products at Terumo Cardiovascular. Prior to joining Terumo, Steven served as a physician assistant for six years in adult and pediatric cardiovascular surgery and 26 years as a clinical perfusionist. His perfusion career included roles as a perfusion manager and perfusion executive in contract and hospital-based settings. He also served as a director on the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion and was active in his state perfusion society.
