Advances in real-time monitoring have expanded the role of data in perfusion practice, giving clinicians access to continuous physiological insights that can support intraoperative decision-making and patient care. This session will examine how Terumo’s CDI OneView™ Monitoring System is being integrated into this shift in clinical practice, with a focus on real world application.
This live webinar will be moderated by Terumo Cardiovascular’s Shelli Cruz and will feature three experienced perfusion leaders: Kim De La Cruz, CCP; Michelle Chambless, CCP; and Saskia Rechin, CCP. The panel will share their experiences transitioning from CDI 500 and CDI 550 Systems to the CDI OneView System, including the factors that influenced adoption, as well as their approaches to implementation and training.
Attendees will gain practical insights into how CDI OneView System data is used during cases to inform perfusion management. The discussion will also highlight lessons learned during rollout, considerations for integrating new monitoring capabilities into existing workflows, and perspectives on how expanded parameters can influence clinical decision-making.

Speakers
Kim De La Cruz, CCP, is Director of Perfusion and ECMO Services with UCLA Health Systems, overseeing UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, Santa Monica UCLA, and UCLA West Valley Hospital. She has over 26 years of experience, serving as Director of UCLA Health since 2018.
She completed her training in Cardiovascular Perfusion at Barry University and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from California State University, Northridge.
Kim is a co-author of the publication Pediatric heart transplantation from donation after circulatory death using normothermic regional perfusion and cold storage from a distant donor: First US experience. Published in The American Association for Thoracic Surgery (May 1, 2023).
Michelle Chambless, CCP, is an accomplished Chief Perfusionist and Director of Adult Perfusion Services with over 30 years of clinical experience in cardiovascular perfusion. As President and Owner of Golden Gate Perfusion, Inc., she leads a team of eleven perfusionists, providing comprehensive services across three Bay Area hospitals: UCSF, St. Mary's, and the San Francisco VA Medical Center.
Beyond her extensive clinical work, which includes performing more than 5,000 cardiovascular procedures, Michelle specializes in complex, high-acuity cases, including multi-organ transplantation. A dedicated educator and mentor, she is deeply committed to advancing the profession through standardized training and education. She has extensive experience teaching perfusion students as well as ICU teams in ECMO, VAD, and IABP management, and now in the transplant space.
Michelle is also instrumental in developing institutional protocols that improve clinical quality and safety. As an active member of AmSECT, ELSO, and SABM, she is dedicated to advancing perfusion practice and upholding the highest standards of patient care for the next generation of perfusionists.
Saskia Rechin, CCP, is the Clinical Manager and Perfusionist with Integrative Health, and has held this position since 2023. She previously served as a Perfusion Assistant in Organ Procurement at Banner Health from September 2021 to September 2023 in Tucson, Arizona.
Saskia earned her Master of Pharmacology in Perfusion Technology from the University of Arizona in May 2023, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry: Pre-Health Professions from Hawaii Pacific University. She also completed certification as a Biomedical Research Investigator through the CITI Program.
